Tricks-or-Treats?

Well Bean already gave us our trick so now on to the TREATS!

I treated myself by doing something I haven't done in a very, very long time. I got my hair cut and dyed at an ACTUAL salon. Not like in my bathroom sink. I'm still too much of a baby to cut very much off so its still long, but not as long, with a bit of layering. And Jake specifically requested I go dark brown because he likes my hair darker.
BEFORE
AFTER

We got together on Sunday night and carved pumpkins with Jake's family. Jake doesn't like to usually but I told him he had to help Evan.

They made a classic face. I did a ghost flying over a graveyard.

Then on Halloween day, I got off work early to take Evan over to Jordan Landing to do some Trick-or-Treating. Where I had to explain several times that Evan was actually NOT Winnie the Pooh and was, in fact, an airbender.

Evan looks a bit like he's mid-sneeze
Then we went over to GG's and went around the block with Cousin Sawyer. Then we headed over to Grammy's for a short visit, then back home. Boy we're we beat and ready for bed, even with all the candy we ate! Well until next time...

Halloweenie Party

So this year I was super ambitious and decided to make mine and Evan's costumes. I think they turned out very well. I decided we would go as Avatar Korra and Meelo from the cartoon Legend of Korra. If you have never seen that show or Avatar: The Last Airbender, you need to watch them! They are really good even for adults! Well here is a picture of what Korra and Meelo look like:

And here is the pics of Evan and I:

So I am happy with how they turned out. :)

Okay so kind of a long story now. The week before Halloween Bean text me and said that she was sending the family a package to the parents house so "just a heads up" but then she said it was a surprise and couldn't tell me what. So of course I went crazy trying to think what could be such a big surprise she is sending. All I could think is that she is prego and is sending some ultrasound picture or something. But as I know she is on birth control and doesn't WANT kids right now, I doubted that was it. So anyway my mom text me on Thursday night to tell me the package arrived and that I should come by in the morning to get it. So I agreed but the next morning is when the carpet guys were coming in to put the new carpet in the downstairs bedroom and they were late so I had to wait for them to finish so I could pay them before I went over. My mom calls me wondering where I am, So I explain about the carpet guys and tell her I'll be over once they leave. She explains that Season is over too and that maybe we can all go to lunch or something so I should hurry over. I say okay and text her once I'm leaving. I get there and am carrying Evan inside and my mom is standing there pointing her camera at me. I'm confused. Out pops Bean herself, the little devil, her surprise package was herself and Josh. Yay!
So we hang out and go to lunch and play a game as a family and go to a movie (Pitch Perfect) The only snag is that they don't want Jake to know until the party tomorrow, Saturday, at Clint's house. So when he asks what my surprise was I play it off and say "Oh it was just some fun Halloween stuff which I actually left at my parents by accident." He totally buys it.
Fast forward to the next day. Jake has thrown together his last minute costume (Jersey Jerk, I will call him) Evan is dropped off to GGs house to spend the night and we are going to the party. I have been texting Bean and know they are not there yet, but are planning to arrive in masks so no one knows who they are. So we are there for maybe 10 minutes or so and the mysterious duo arrive. They are introduced as "some of Coty's friends, call them Red and Purple"

Of course I know who it really is and am shocked that no one else has immediately recognized them. But I play along. They will not talk because that would give it away so they kinda just hover being really creepy staring at everyone. After about 15 minutes, "Red" beckons to Jake to come over so Jake is like "Yo! You need something?" (He is talking in his character's NY accent) Red unmasks... WHAT?! OMG!!!

Cheers and happiness abound and everyone is honestly surprised it is them! So they get changed into their "real" costumes and fun commences the rest of the evening. Here's the costume round-up.
Russ - Hippie
Greg - Devil
Zach - Race Car Driver
Devin - Minecraft Steve, Clint - Psy
Camille and Jaxton - Minions
Jon - Mobster, Season - Raven
Zane and Miranda - The White Stripes
Karissa and Jeremias - Referees
Coty - Gorilla, Marion - Mad Hatter
Serene - Mord Sith, Josh - Richard Rahl

Bean made her and Josh's costumes. They are from the Sword of Truth book series. Josh is the main character Richard Rahl, in his War Wizard outfit, and Bean is a Mord Sith, who are like the protectors for Lord Rahl.

All the Campbell sisters! Aww

Coming next: Actual Halloween night festivities.

August Zoo/ Reli's 8th

Oops! I did it again. (I played with your heart, got lost in the game...) Okay but really, I have neglected this here el blogo. So lets have a rewind and see what has happened in the past 3 months. So two things I don't have much to say about, nor pictures to accompany: I turned 27 in July, and Jake and I had our 3rd anniversary on Oct 10th. We really didn't do anything super special for either, mostly just hung out with each other and went out to dinner. Which I was fine with. Now on to the more fun things.

On August 18 Evan and I went to the zoo with Grandma Gina, Aunt Linsey and baby Sawyer. We went because there was the new Artic exibit open with seals and penguins and the polar bear.

Evan had been to the zoo before but not with me so I had fun showing him all the animals and things. He might still be a bit little for it but I think he at least understood some of it.

I'm not even sure what it is he is holding, but it was like a rattle for the drum circle.

We went for a ride on the Conservation Carousel

At first we were on the Polar Bear, but then we switched to the Tiger.

The Seals

Can you tell it was hot?

Classic "Measuring Up Ape" shot

And Cousin Aurelia turned 8 and had her party at Grammy and Papa's the day after they moved to the new house. Her theme was Rock'n'Roll and it was cute but uh let's just say I don't look forward to Evan when he is that age. Those kids...
