4th of July/ Baby Sawyer

Have I ever said how I love Summertime? I do. A LOT! Jake hates the heat but I love it. True, I'm usually stuck indoors at work for the majority of it, but no matter. And one of my favorites of summer is celebrating Independence Day, or more commonly touted as the Fourth of July. Unfortunately I did not get the day off of work (but hey, holiday pay is nice) Once I was off, we headed over to Thom and Gina's for a BBQ and fireworks. Evan, the poor lil' guy, was not feeling too well. He got sick in the car and broke out in hives, still not sure exactly what caused it. So he just kinda snuggled and laid down for the BBQ portion until we gave him a quick bath and some medicine so his hives went away. After that he was back to his normal silly self. Season and Aurelia came over to watch fireworks. We just had the standard stuff you get at the firework stands, but next door neighbor likes to take a trip up to Wyoming and get the good stuff, so we had a nice show. At first Evan was a little scared by the "crackly" sounding ones, surprisingly not the shrieking ones like I would think. However, he soon overcame that and just liked going "Oooooo" at all of them

We tried a sparkler, but he kept trying to hold the spark end, so that didn't go over so well. Maybe next year.
 Cousin Cuddles :)

Nextly, (why isn't that a real word) I now have my very first NEPHEW!

Sawyer Mitchell Jackson~7lbs 12oz~21.5 inches

Baby Sawyer just decided he really liked being inside his mommy and made her wait until they induced her. His original due date was June 27th. So she went in early morning on July 6th to be induced. Sawyer did not so much like them trying to make him come out and by evening she ended up having to have an emergency C-section, but both baby and mom are fine! He is so little and cute and has his eyes open a lot! Well my b-day is just around the corner. Not really planning much but we shall see. Until next time...
