Going ons...

Well April got away from me. I wish I would have got some good Easter pics but I had to work that morning and went straight from work to Jake's parents and didn't think about my camera. We had a good time at both Jake's parents and mine afterwards. My only Easter pic is of my Easter/Spring craft:
 Evan Update:
Baby is turning 15 months and I know that technically he is a toddler now but he'll always be my baby. I really was hoping that he would call me Mama for Mother's day but we're still working on it. He also does signs for drink and eat now. He also has his first 4 molars, 2 top 2 bottom. He is so silly when hes eating. He likes to bite the spoon so I can't take it out.

He has been sleeping on his own for about 2 weeks now. Although he does usually end up coming in and sleeping with me a bit before we wake up for the day.
Silly Evan LOVES to play with the brooms/mops. He will drag them all over the house if I let him.

He is my little Spiderman who climbs/tries to climb on EVERYTHING, even up the walls.
We had to do some rearranging of the furniture in his room when I found he had climbed up here one day. Yeah that coulda been quite the fall, little guy.

In other "adult" news, Jake finished this semester with a 3.5 GPA! He was surprised because his economics class was pretty tough and wasn't sure how well he did, so we are very proud of him! He also just got a new job that he won't start for 2 weeks, as he is finishing out at Unisys. Its with a company called Hire Vue, who do video interviews for companies who are hiring. The pay isn't much different but the benefits are and he will be able to work from home a lot so that will save on gas. Plus he will get a laptop and cell phone. So that will also help by cutting some of our T-mobile bill. So I think overall it will be a good change! Also, Jake's friends who he plays D&D with (Devin, Trent, Zane, Craig, and Eric) decided to start a blog/podcast. Its called Out of Our System and they just talk about "guy things" like movies, video games, comics, ect. He is pretty excited about it and has a lot of fun recording each podcast session weekly.

Out of Our System

In my realm, lately I've really been stuck in a rut making the same dinners each week and so I decided to use a new idea and so far I think its been really good. I took about 25 3x5 cards and on the blank side I write a meal (Tacos, Pork Chops, Breakfast for Dinner) then on the lined side I write what ingredients I'll need for that meal, including any side dish ingredients (veggies, rice, rolls). So each week I take as many cards as I need -depending on what is going on that week, I may not need to cook every day. Then I use the cards to write out my grocery list. Then I put that weeks cards on the fridge that way Jake knows what to expect for dinner. Once the week is over those dinners are put to the side and I start with new cards. That way we are not having the same meal within a month. (Although I do have 2 cards that say Pizza because I don't think we can go a full month between Pizza nights.) Sorry if that was boring, but that really has been my latest 'project' so just thought I'd share. Well hopefully it won't be July before I write again. Until next time...
