So I know Evan is a late bloomer with speaking. He doesn't call me mama, or say any words regularly really. He is babbling constantly and understands us very well so I do not think its a hearing problem, though the doctor said that we'll have to get his ears checked if he isn't speaking by 18 months. Every so often you'll get a word out of him, usually HOT or BYE. So even though he isn't very verbal, he does communicate with some basic sign language we've taught him.
Sorry if there is some repeat signs and he also knows "cracker", "hot dog", and "brush teeth" but I couldn't get him to do them on queue. He is a toddler and his attention span was not allowing me to do a "sit here and do all these signs" so I did two different days and had to edit it a bit to cut out him whining/running around. I did leave in the bit of him climbing on the table just as another example of his "spider-man" habits.
We are continuing to teach him signs and he is so smart he picks them up fairly quick. So I just hope soon we can video him both SAYING and signing words. :) Until next time.
Cutest video of him... EVER!!!! Awee... :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute kid. Nice video. My son Noah didn't talk for the longest time. I think he just didn't want to. Now he talks fine.
