Evan's Birthday Party

I can hardly believe a year has already passed since this:

But it was time for Evan's first birthday party. I think like any first time mom I was a little geeked out over planning it. I looked at who knows how many online ideas but I finally decided not to do a theme, other than "Blue and Green Polkadots" I know that is kind of lame but I figure he doesn't really have interests of his own yet so the Pirates and Dinos can be for future parties. :) We had a really good turn out and I was really happy with the way things went. Except for a few issues with the frosting... which I don't want to go into. Also, my dad sadly had to fly out to Denmark that very afternoon so he missed out, he was really bummed. Plus Bean in Cali so here is a lot of pictures and a video to make anyone who missed it feel included.
This was his invitation: (Well with address and ph# altered for security reasons)

His Highchair decorations/cake

My attempt at fancy two-tone frosting.

E for Evan
Well now you can see close up of how much I suck at frosting...
His big "1" balloon and Grammy.
Polka Dot Balloons
Streamers
Fluffy decorations
One picture for each month
Beverages
Light luncheon
The Birthday Boy!
Loved the balloons

Evan with his Buddy Porter Moeller.

Opening presents with Mama's help of course.
Cape Aunt Linsey made (reversible the other side is batman)

All the spoils! I say he made out pretty good. And lots of clothes for Summer!

I wanted to post the video of Evan's cake smash but I think its putting me over the limit or something because its not working. I'll have to try later, but here at least is the after pic:

Also got his one year pics back so that'll be in the next post too.

Valentine's Craft/Superbowl

So for my Valentine's Day craft I made these cute LOVE letters. I went to Wood Connection with my mom so we could buy Bean her birthday present (which is today, HAPPY BIRTDAY SEESTER!) and I picked these up while there. Jake's sisters wanted to do a craft too so I waited to make it so we could have a "craft night" together. Its kind of becoming tradition. :) Linsey made a heart to hang on her door and Ashley made a Love too, but in a different font/style.

Then the superbowl was last Sunday (Giant's won vs. Patriots) so we had a little party at Jake's parents house. I made these deviled eggs. I was going for making them look like they were little footballs. Jake said he couldn't tell until I said that was what they were supposed to be. Oh well.

In other news, baby is turning one year old in 2.5 weeks!!! I can't believe its come already, but I'm having lots of fun planning it! :D Pictures and video of the event to come thereafter!

Here's the latest of parent's new home. That's the concrete being poured! It is looking like they are seriously considering a pool now too. Hooray! :D

Also, Linsey found out she is having a boy! So I get my first nephew! :) They are thinking of naming him Sawyer for now. Linsey isn't 100% on it so we'll see if that changes before he arrives. Well this was a short one, but better than nothing! :) Until next time...

Evan walking

Here is a video of Evan taking some steps. It seems he always does better when he knows the camera is not on him. But this one was still pretty good.

And just a few recent pics:
 Mohawk

I think this one is cute because Evan will not take a binky but he found this one and thought it was so funny that he was using it. He would laugh and take it out then put it back in and look at me like "See I'm so funny"

Christmas 2011

Christmas Day we spent with Jake's family, but for some reason I didn't have my camera... :( So don't have any pictures of that. Jake was so sneaky with my present. He wrapped it in many layers, the outside layer being a office chair box, when I opened it I honestly thought "I don't need a new office chair." but Jake was like "Open it up" so then I was like... whew! I don't have to pretend to be happy with a new chair! It ended up being a KINDLE FIRE!!! :D yay! And I was not pretending to be happy about that. Bean and Josh came down so we did our Christmas with them on the 27th. I did have my camera then so, Let the pictures commence!

These are some salt dough ornaments baby and I made for the grandparents.

 Baby loves Lily :)

 Farm book

He is wearing his "ugly" Christmas Sweater, Jake almost didn't let me put him in it! haha

Cute church outfit from Grammy and Papa.

This was really the only pic of Jake and its blurry. :(

 KitchenAid Stand Mixer :D

Apparently I just live in the kitchen... or am going to now.
 All Evan's toys he got

Then our annual "Adult Christmas Dinner". We went to Carver's. Yummy steaks!

Overall, it was a great Christmas and I love my families on both sides!! Until next time...

Christmas Decor

This has been the first year I've got to decorate this house for Christmas since last year we had just barely moved in I was suprised I even got the tree up. So this is probably going to be a lame post to most of you but these are just a few of my decorations I put up. I didn't really have any money for decorations, so these cute trees are the only new thing I bought and made.

Then I just had some fun with cutting out some paper snowflakes.

This is a wreath I made probably 6 years ago with my bestie, Crystal.  Some of the ornaments broke during the several moves its gone through, so I had to exchange a few out but looks good as new I think!

Here's my mantle. Evan didn't have a stocking this year... my bad. I don't think he noticed though. ;)

.And of course the Christmas Tree!!

Oh... and my adorable helper ;)

Next year's project is the lanterns that I bought that I still haven't used! :( And hopefully we'll get some outside lights too. Coming up next... Christmas festivities!

Bronson Christmas Party

Last friday we had a Christmas Party with Jake's Mom's side of the family, the Bronson's. They always just have pizza, pop, and dessert because it is pretty easy to do for such a large group. We had a white elephant gift exchange, Jake and I ended up with a Mint flavored chocolate orange and some men's musk body spray (both of us agreed to him never wearing). I was assigned to bring a dessert. Since Crystal Moeller and I had our annual "Crystal Squared Christmas Cooking" that Monday, it was perfect. I brought our Reese's PB mini cup cookies that we usually make and we made something new this year. Homemade Peppermint Oreos with holiday sprinkles. You guessed it, found on Pinterest. :) I think they turned out really yummy! Here are some pics of the evening:

 Peppermint Oreo Cookies

Enjoying a candy cane and Aunt Linsey

 Ash, Jess, Ty, and Skye

Thom and Jake's Aunt Lisa.

Getting ready to play the White Elephant game.

Trying to get Ev interested in his new toy.

A little blurry but figured out how to make it go.

Mainly just wanted to play with other kid's toys.

 The "Nativity"

  The whole big family!

Well next post will be about decorations and probably Christmas too, since its in 3 days!!! (Don't worry I have absolutely NONE of my shopping done...yikes!!) Also, Bean and Josh will be here on the 26th til the 2nd so yay!! Until next time...
